Supported the Reels team as a Design Lead, working on the end-to-end experience and strategy, and collaborating with Instagram to ensure a shared brand and consistent product. Facebook Reels launched in the US in August 2021.

As a response to the pandemic, Facebook and Messenger developed a new way to meet virtually and hold spontaneous or scheduled video-calls. I led the experience from the Facebook side, developing a 0-1 product to ship worldwide in less than two months across all the family platforms.

I brought forward our Story Creation experiences on Fb Lite, a separate Facebook app platform developed specifically for emerging markets, focusing on designing high quality products working around technical and social constraints, like lower-end devices, lower tech-literacy, and data affordability.

Worked on multiple experiences within the feedback space of News Feed including an update to the share sheet to modernize the UI and streamline resharing with text, a new AI-driven content suggestion system to help people comment, and a redesign to the comment composer to better scale as new features are added.

Conceptualized future experiences for Windows, creating proposals varying from sketches and storyboards, to app designs and patterns, to live-action video productions.

Windows 10
Microsoft, Interaction Designer II

Designed a UI framework for responsive scaling from mobile to large screens that was adopted by all Windows 10 core apps.

Created the information architecture and end-to-end design patterns for the Windows 10 App Store. Provided specifications for PMs and developers, as well as the platforms for our business partners.

Xbox Music

Designed user experiences and interfaces for the Xbox Music app on Windows 8, then the Groove universal app on Windows 10.

Lead the design for the Podcast app, working directly with a small group of developers.

Created software experiences for Surface and Surface 2 and collaborated on their communication strategies, advising partners on usability, packaging, and marketing.  

Lead the interaction design, both for software and hardware, for the Surface Remix Project, a portable music sequencer for Surface 2.
